The Project
Cancer is in many ways paradigmatic of 20th-century medicine. This
historical research project, funded by the Wellcome Trust and hosted
at the Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine
at the University of Manchester explores the development of cancer
research and therapy in Britain and the meanings of cancer for the
history of modern biomedicine.
